Review: Toytown tower defense
Toytown tower defense has just been added to Deviantflash. It looks like some hard work has been done to make the this game, so I thought it might be time for a review.
Toytown tower defense has it all; upgrades, bonus from other towers, great graphics and even a hero. It’s filled with all the great things of all the other tower defense games. But does that necessarily make a great game?
Gameplay
Toytown tower defense has all the features imaginable for a tower defense online game, but it’s missing the vibe different games have. The game is slow, sure you can change the speed but then it becomes unmanageable, because you’ll have to scroll which is I think a big setback of the game. The hero is a nice addition to the game but it’s hard to control because of the scrolling problems.
Graphics & Music
The graphics are good, they’re a bit kiddy so it might appeal to younger people. Also the music is really happy and nice. So that’s also a good job.
Verdict
Overall it’s a good online game, but it has some flaws. The scrolling is bad, the game is slow and you’ve more problems with controlling your hero and fighting with the game mechanism the actually having fun and playing the game.
6/10

Onslaught: The basics
Onslaught is a base defend game, you’ll have to defend your base from the attacker by placing turrets around the predefined path. Every 20 seconds a new group of enemies is going to attack your base (area 51). Each wave will be a little harder.
At the start you’ll be able to place 5 different turrets. Each with a different range, damage and fire rate.
Cannon 10$
Damage: 3
Range: 2
Rate: 4
Once the rate is upgraded 4 times, it’ll freak out each 5 seconds and have even an higher fire rate.
Laser 15$
Damage: 3
Range: 4
Rate: 3
When you have laser turrets near each other they’ll shoot to each other in a chain to add 25% extra damage to the chain.
Rocket 20$
Damage: 5
Range: 5
Rate: 4
Once the rate of fire is upgraded 3 times and rate 4 times, it’ll shoot rockets in the air ready for the next wave.
Tazer 50$
Damage: 2
Range: 1
Rate: 3
Will slow down enemies and has the same freak out ability as the cannon.
You’re able to upgrade each turret in Damage, Range and Fire rate. Once a turret is fully upgraded you’ll be able to do combos for extra damage. Guide on combos coming soon.

The best base defend online games
There are a lot of popular flash games out there, but defend your castle games prove to be an addictive category. The classic defend your castle game made by Xgen Studios started the trend, but soon to follow by more complicated games like Age of War, Last stand and Onslaught 2.
Defend your castle - The classic online game
In the classic base defense game you’ll have to pick up your enemies and throw them away so they spatter on the ground. You’ll have to fight off a lot of enemies getting higher each level. At the end of the level you’re allowed to buy power ups.
The last stand doesn’t go far away from defend your castle. But the look and feel is a lot better. In the last stand you’ll have to shoot your enemies at night and in the daylight you can spend time searching for survivors, weapons and repair your hideout.
Unlike castle defend and last stand in age of war you’ll also have to attack making the game a lot more complicated. Age of war goes through all ages of mankind. You’ll have to drive back your enemy to finally attack their base and destroy it.
This addicting online game lets your enemies follow a path and around that path you’ll have to place turrets to kill them. But that’s not all you’ll also have the ability to upgrade your turrets, make combinations and make your own custom maps.
